Development for East Tennessee 1st & 2nd Graders

Our 1st–2nd grade development program is built around curriculum-based learning designed specifically for young athletes.

Players receive foundational basketball instruction from certified TN United coaches, with a strong focus on:

  • Dribbling

  • Passing

  • Shooting

  • Balance, coordination, and movement

Each session follows a structured curriculum, introducing age-appropriate concepts of:

  • Offensive spacing and ball movement

  • Defensive positioning and effort

  • Team play, sharing the ball, and decision-making

Athletes will apply what they learn through:

  • 3-on-3 half-court games to promote touches and confidence

  • 5-on-5 full-court play to introduce game flow and transitions

While the environment is high-energy, encouraging, and fun, our priority is teaching the foundational habits and concepts players will need as they continue their basketball journey.

This program is about learning the game the right way, building confidence, and creating a positive first experience with basketball—development first, fun always.
